When the value of ETH crashes, will stablecoins like DAI or USDC be affected ?

I'm not sure how old the reputable stablecoins are, but I've been wondering if a bear market had a chance to impact the value of stablecoins to a point where those are no longer a safe asset to hold ?

Asking that because I've been mining ETH for awhile now and thinking of securing those gains <without> triggering a taxable event (which is basically Crypto -> Fiat in my country)
