What will the ETH 2.0 fork mean for existing ERC-20 tokens?

Will those be forked as well? Or is it up to those developers to release their own version of the newly forked ETH tokens to the wallets holding x number of existing Ethereum network tokens?

I know there's other types beyond ERC-20s, those are just the ones I'm most familiar with.
