Is it just big artists that make good money in the NFT space?

I first heard of NFTs about two weeks ago from a podcast. At first I didn’t understand their value (due to piracy concerns).

I then read about the value in owning an original piece of art instead of a copy(a fake) and then it all made sense.

From looking up various artists that have made pretty crazy sales, they seem to all be established people / companies (Beeple, NFL One Shot etc).

Even though anyone can make and mint an NFT, is it only the big names that are actually making a living from it? Like with Art, you are paying for the artist instead of the art piece itself. Or is it different this time around with digital art?
