How Do Decentralized Cloud GPU Platforms Fit Into Ethereum’s Broader Ecosystem?

Lately I’ve been looking into decentralized GPU cloud platforms, and one project that stood out is Octaspace. It provides access to high-performance GPUs (including H100s) and offers one-click environments for ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. What’s unique is the blockchain layer — contributors can earn tokens by sharing idle computing resources, while users can rent compute on demand.
This got me thinking about Ethereum’s role in the bigger picture:
Could decentralized GPU networks eventually integrate with Ethereum-based dApps for on-chain AI/ML workloads?
Would we see more protocols building bridges between decentralized compute providers and smart contracts, so that models can be trained or executed trustlessly?
How does this align with Ethereum’s vision of being a settlement layer for decentralized infrastructure beyond finance?
It feels like AI + decentralized compute is becoming the next wave of experimentation. Curious what others here think: is there a future where Ethereum serves as the coordination layer for decentralized GPU marketplaces? Or is this something that will remain siloed in its own ecosystems?
