He claims this CBDC will have "offline functionality" which "would be validated peer-to-peer, meaning the payer and payee would directly verify that the transfer of value between them had been carried out, without any third-party involvement."

I guess we can expect government-sponsored cyberattacks on banking infrastructure to ram home the CBDC?
