Stack Bitcoin First or Split With Altcoins?

If Bitcoin has a fixed supply, what’s the smarter move with a lump sum of savings? Would it make sense to buy as much Bitcoin as possible now since it’s capped and scarce, and then shift into altcoins later, or is it better to balance between Bitcoin and altcoins right from the beginning?

This whole debate started offline with my coworkers and their argument is getting more heated by the day, so I figured I’d bring it here to get a range of opinions and see what other Redditors in the community think.
