What do people think of “one person, one unit of stake” consensus mechanism?

Seems self-evident, logically, "proof-of-suffrage" will start to become popular and every country in the world run such a system with their population register and citizens overseeing their ledger. The conversation has not just taken off yet, but it seems very clear it will take off, and once it does, as a sort of "race". What do people think about "one person, one unit of stake"?
