USDT Is Doing More for Africa Than Half the L2s You’re Shilling
No offense to your favorite L2… but let’s be real.
While most of crypto Twitter is debating sequencer decentralization or gas compression rollouts, people here in Kinshasa, Lagos, and Nairobi are using USDT (on Tron mostly) to:
✅ Send cross-border remittances ✅ Pay rent ✅ Avoid 25%+ inflation ✅ Run small businesses with dollar pricing
It’s not glamorous. It’s not DeFi-native yield vaults. But it’s working.
And to be honest? Sometimes “just works” > “fully decentralized but unusable.”
Curious how others in emerging markets are seeing this play out too
