The best time for market manipulation is when there’s a good narrative in the media to explain it away.

Bitcoin didn’t flat crash from a single tweet from Elon: Bitcoin crashed because whales saw the tweet as an opportunity to cause mayhem.

Imagine for a moment that you hold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of BTC – enough to cause a measurable dip in price. Imagine you are watching the activity of other whales: a negative bitcoin headline drops (China bans crypto), and the whale unloads their portfolio. Other whales follow suit, and so you do too.

Within minutes the price is tanked. Retail panics and positions are liquidated. The media and r/cryptocurrency get on their soap boxes to preach while you buy up the discounted btc. r/cryptocurrency even makes posts mentioning your discount purchases in real time.

Later it turns out that it was a misinterpretation: crypto isn’t banned.

The death cross is a narrative.

S2F is a narrative.

China is a narrative.

Bitcoin and DeFi are not a narrative, they are immutable and indisputable technologies.

Stop getting swept up in the stories that you are telling each other: Bitcoin is bitcoin, and no headline changes the whitepaper. Recognize how market manipulators use the media and your emotions to their advantage, and how redditors come up concrete with explanations after the fact.

You were right: crypto is the future.

Hodl you guys, and remember that you’ll be okay lol. Ignore the media and for the most part ignore redditors.
