Ravencoin based Raspberry Pi Node Builds using Ravencoin OS

I have been trying to promote the launching of more nodes on the ravencoin network in any way I can for a while now; and while I still need to make a youtube tutorial video to help better the mass understanding of how to setup a ravencoin node on a raspberry pi, using the ravencoin OS, or setting up ravencoin nodes on other platforms, I am going to begin a Ravencoin node project to also help achieve the goal of getting more nodes launched on the network.

Before I describe this project however, I am going to give a brief numerical analysis of the node network to put a perspective on how many nodes the ravencoin network could have. Something to remember, as ravennodes.com states, "Ravennodes estimates the size of the Ravencoin network by finding all the reachable nodes. These are the nodes that accept incoming connections. This method will not list all full nodes because not all nodes have an open port that can be probed using Ravennodes. These nodes are either behind firewalls or configured to not listen for connections." Currently, as of June 7th, 2021, 17:16:52 GMT, we have 609 nodes visible on ravennodes.com. If just 5% of this reddit community, let's round down to 40k, ran a single node… that would be 2,000 nodes. If 10% of the community ran a single node, 4,000 nodes would be on the network.

Now that this figure has been introduced, how do we get there the easiest way for those that are new to scripting, nodes, raspberry pi, and things of that nature? I am currently in the process of acquiring the materials to 3D print a variety of Ravencoin themed Raspberry Pi model 4B (8GB Ram, 128 GB internal storage, 4K output) board based cases, with the board, and a 256GB micro sd card (maybe bigger) with the Ravencoin OS pre-loaded onto it. The wallet would be updated and synced, with an instructional README text document placed on the desktop as to how to launch the most recent version of the wallet GUI using the terminal, and how to check for inbound and outbound connections, as well as a link to the youtube video I am making soon.

The pi board being used as stated would be a model 4B with 8GB Ram, 128 GB internal storage, 4K video output, with a 256 GB micro SD card inserted with the Ravencoin OS image pre-loaded, wallet pre-synced so NO LONG WEEK OF WAITING for the wallet to sync, and the instructional text document. The cases would come in a variety of styles, and custom orders are always doable. I will be posting some example case styles I am preparing in CAD software, along with color scheme, etc. I can include the cords and wires if that is something that the community would prefer. I will be constructing a website as well to make the order process much, much easier, so that the community can view the inventory, reach out for questions, etc.

Prices will be a bit pricey, but fair! I will not not charge for labor as this is a labor of love for the community, however, the dev team / ravencoin foundation deserve a donation from the project, and I will need to cover the cost of construction, such as materials for printing, boards, cables if wanted, etc., and I will also be working to decrease the cost of production in any way I can, so that it is easier for the community to achieve this widespread node launching goal.

As a little extra bonus and nod to the use cases of RVN, I will be making a RVNPI asset if available, and selling these as physical NFTs that can be purchased using RVN. I will also be auctioning them on the braveland campus if possible!

Thanks everyone for your time and patience in this long winded read. I hope it was easy to understand, and of course, if there are any questions, please feel free to reach out any time, day or night, I'm just a PM away.

Please let me know how much interest there is, because if it is large scale, this project will move foward. Thanks!
