Can some help me understand the difference between ethereum and ethereum 2.0?

I’m new to crypto and currently trying to understand all the currencies. I’m specifically interested in eth but heard that eth 2.0 is coming. Is out now? If yes then what happens to 1.0? Sorry if this question sounds dumb but I’m just having a hard time understanding. Thank you
