Looking for anyone with experience regarding this platform

So for context, a long distance friend called me asking questions about a "Defi" platform called Mai capital. They have an undisclosed amount of $ tied up on the platform and maicapital is asking for multiple fees adding up to over 6k$ in order for them to withdraw these funds.

I have 0 experience with "Defi," I have only ever used Bitcoin, Litecoin & Monero. When i go to the platforms website all it does is redirect me to crypto (dot) com. Also the domain is only 3 months old and the Whois information is obviously redacted but based in China. All signs point to a scam imo but Im hoping someone in this community has more information.
