Best crypto wallet?

Hello, I’m newish to crypto but own a few ERC20 tokens.

I am curious to see what the community recommends as the best non-custodial wallet? I currently have metamask as I invest in HEX. I am curious to know if metamask is a good option for long term storage?

I feel like metamask fees are high, but I’ve never used another wallet to have an educated comparison.

I’m looking for general opinions of metamask and to know if there is a better option.
