Is alt season a self fulfilling prophecy or just hopium?

So i am wondering what do you think about the belief there will be an alt season? 🤔 I would like to see crypto developing in more ways but development does not necessarily mean profit right? For example Polygon is a cool project and has low fees but is it really a good investment? Some people say no but what do you think about alts? Wich are there just for support and wich are valuable investment opportunities?

Compared to other crypto btc is clearly dominating the market hard but i saw people discussing here about why the cycle is repeating and an alt season is unavoidable. As far as i am concerned I am skeptical about a certainty in any investment.

P.S. don't worry this is not a FOMO post i have my bags filled. I just wanted to redistribute my portofolio and maybe you could provide some interesting insight but always DYOR.
