Hot wallet topic:, Help for the newbies to crypto

OK guys I need some help understanding things.

Many people post about getting 'hot wallets drained' , losing all their crypto (sorry for your loss if you have).

I understand the difference between a cex, dex, hot wallet and hardware wallet but want to understand how peope get their hot wallets drained.

I've heard about Shady dapps and signatures. If you could explain to me how one gets their hot wallets (which should never be used as long term storage) drained?
