TIL – Happy Bitcoin infinity day, August 21st (8/21). “Everything there is divided by 21 million”

A few years ago August 21st (8/21) started as Bitcoin Infinity Day. This symbolic date was commemorated in 2021 thanks to Knut Svanhold, a Bitcoin author. According to Knut, the date August 21 can be written as 821. In which the number “8” stands for the infinity symbol “∞” and 21 refers to the maximum Bitcoin supply that will ever exist. However, Bitcoin Infinity Day is not just a concept. It's also the date on which an artist called FractalEncrypt created his Infinity Day Keys. Knut was the first one to receive the special private key (as seen below) Here's Knut with his Bitcoin Infinity Day Private Key 1/21 Michael Saylor (yes, it's him again) is probably the most famous owner of the private keys. Saylor owns Private Key #11. Bitcoin magazine has a long write up on its website about this special day. I highly recommend you to read it since not many are familiar with 8/21.
