Projects from which you can mine/earn?

I'll soon undergo a knee surgery due to which I will be bedridden for a couple of months. Is there any cryptocurrency that I can mine/earn? I don't have any mining hardware and neither do I know much about the technical side of crypto. Is there anything I can learn and do except farming M O O N S here? Any worthy project which you can earn from? Also, please recommend some crypto related book to gain a more technical understanding of the cryptospace. I'll prefer something more BTC, ETH focused, but any kind of recommendation is much appreciated.
