Question between solo mining and pool mining.

Hi, while looking at a video about crypto mining and the difference between solo and pool mining, i had a question, when people go for pool mining they work together and try to find a solution for the block ( we will call it block "x"), now knowing a block is found every 10 minutes, the person that was mining in solo, when the block "x" is found does the solo miner has to go on another block and also try to find it, or does he simply stay on his block until he finds the solution, because if each times a block is found the solo miner has to switch to the new block, its impossible for a solo miner with low hash rate to ever find a block.
