The world is not ready for Ethereum yet

I dreamed of Ethereum and a world in which all values are digitized. But reality forced me to find out the truth. I realized that the world is not yet ready for ethereum.

Security: In the past, hackers could steal Excel tables or birthday photos from normal PCs. Not very motivating. Even companies didn't give much. Maybe their data was sold. But in the vision of Ethereum in which systems store vast amounts of values (keys), it suddenly seems worthwhile to break any system. Are normal users prepared for it? Can you imagine what sophisticated methods and conspiracies will develop to break systems that secure such huge sums of money? I don't think our end systems today are ready for it. They were not designed for that.

Governance: How can you make sure a great movement stays great? How can you make sure it does not end in a disaster? What happens when Ethereum grows and grows and spans the world and in the end a small group of people controls the network? How is such a thing regulated? If you see yourself as a technologist, you cannot ignore these questions. Atomic physicists also said they were only interested in science and the result was the atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan.

Society: Rulers used to control people because they couldn't read and were therefore uneducated. How can it be ensured that there is not a new class society between technologists and non-technologists? This does not only apply to blockchain, but that is where the influence should be strongest. What if Ethereum actually keeps its unspeakable promises about the future ("The global settlement layer")? Would society even be ready for it? I think there is a lot of catching up to do here. While the Ethereum community is open in theory, there are still problems sometimes in practice. There are so many people who fall victim to misinformation. Who should they believe if they don't know anyone?

A dark vision I know but you have to consider and discuss all eventualities.
