Is this a scam

My sister got added to a Whatsapp group where some people trade Future crypto contracts. She was guided how to do it , where she bought stable coin and transfered to a third party futures app, and she made some profit based on their guidance and then withdrew the money.

She let me know and i joined the whatsapp group, where a person sends alerts and people carry out the future trades. My instict tells me this is a scam like the 'Pig Butchering Scam'. Inwarned my sister and she said she will be careful and only trade in small amounts.

Have any of you encountered something similar or am i just being over cautious?
