In the wake of FTX, Ledger and Atomic Wallet: A short 101 crypto safety summary for those who want to travel more safely.
Atomic Wallet like, Guarda, Exodus and Coinomi are all the same kind of closed source wallets. GTFO.
They were never recommended by the community. Still they amassed lots of users.
For your safe travel you need…
- Open air-gapped hardware (NO connected hardware wallets like Ledger, Trezor,…)
- Open source software (NO proprietary wallets like Exodus, Bitcoin.com, Coinomi, Atomic, Guarda,…)
- Self-custody (NO CEX like Binance, KuCoin, OKX, Bitfinex, Coinbase, Kraken…)
- Multi-sig seed storage (protection against seizure, loss, theft, fire, water)
Not your keys, not your coins. Done right. Storing, saving in and spending cryptocurrencies is the most secure ways to interact with your financials.
Edit: Because many people here asked. I am currently writing a specification for safe wallet handling in regards to your personal risk profile. A good start to where this will lead to is DIY hardware like used in the Seed Signer and Jade. https://nitter.net/SeedSigner/status/1663407388177715201#m Also check this out https://vulcan21.com/
Will post it in the next couple of days.
