how long should syncing take with checkpoint sync using geth/prysm?

I haven't messed around with Ethereum in a few years and the new proof-of-stake upgrade has forced me to relearn a lot of the tools I already had scripts set up for.

After realizing I had to run a beacon node to transact with geth I started everything up and it seems to be working…but the sync messages are telling me it's going to take another 15 hours to "state download in progress" and "chain download in progress." Have I messed something up or is this realistically how long it takes to sync up before I can do anything with my old wallet?

To clarify what my goal here is, I'd just like to send what meager funds I have left in my wallet to someone else. What's the most simple way to go about doing this?
