PSA: Enable 2FA on Your Bank Account Before Using Plaid to Link to Coinbase

Coinbase has recently unlinked users bank accounts and forcing everyone to use Plaid to re-verify. But if you have a non-SMS 2FA like Google Authenticator or Authy linked to your bank account Plaid can't be used to verify your account. Once you have attempted to verify with Plaid and it fails, you will be allowed to manually re-verify your account with ACH deposit.

Plaid is awful. They're another data harvester and a failure point for security. It's really shitty that Coinbase has done this. Flood their customer support e-mail with complaints. It's the holiday season and they've cut off peoples' ability to get funds in, or more importantly out of Coinbase. If Kraken is available in your area, move to Kraken for your fiat on/off ramp.

I am shocked at the number of people in this sub that aren't using a non-SMS 2FA for their bank accounts. We preach it for your crypto exchange accounts. You should enable it whenever it is an option!
