Has Ethereum achieved anything yet?

Sure it can exchange value, but so can many other coins. This sub lacks posts about what Ethereum is doing for people in the real world. This tells me Ethereum is failing. When will this so-called supercomputer do something that makes a difference in this world? So far the only thing that Ethereum has done to change the world is to generate copious quantities of heat-trapping gases.

Has an Ethereum-based product done well in a market compared to a non-crypto alternative? I never hear about Ethereum making its mark. I never hear about an Ethereum-based service or technology reaching the masses. Is Buterin still not even using it for blogging? When is this magic going to happen? Until I see some more real world gains I will remain unconvinced of Ethereum's potential.
