Doubts about Minting items

Hi! Recently i dived into NFT generation on ethereum blockchain. After learning about it a little bit i have a doubt which i could not google. Scenario is not clear in my head;

Can i mint a digital art which is already minted? Basically i want to know if two similar items can exist on blockchain as NFTs? If not, what is preventing this from happening?
