Common Way to Gift Tokens

I'm looking to build a smart contract that make it easier to gift erc20 tokens and gamifies receiving them. How do you gift tokens to someone new to the space that doesn't have a wallet or anything else? Do you do use paper wallets? An exchange? Some other app? I just want to get some feedback about the current practices before I get too far into my MVP. I'd love any and all input my friends!
