Will zk Rollups still be needed after the merge?

Somewhat new to the crypto space so I’m still trying to understand what’s going on. I understand that zk Rollup protocols such as Loopring solve the issues of scalability, fees, and transaction speed.

However, won’t the Ethereum merge also solve those problems? Will zk Rollups such as Loopring still be necessary after the merge?
