Simulation Tools for Simulating Peer to Peer Trading on the Ethereum Network

Hi all,

I am currently looking into possibly doing a thesis on the evaluation of Ethereum for P2P electrical energy trading.

As part of the thesis I would need a way to simulate trading within an Ethereum network between homes. I have limited experience with Ganache but I was wondering if there where any other possible tools out there which could be used?
