Anyone know the background to the naming of the Rinkeby Test net?

I lived in Stockholm in my younger years and one of the most notorious districts is a place called Rinkeby.

Does anyone know if the Rinkeby test net was named after this place and for what reason?

It just blows my mind that Eth and Rinkeby are connected lol
