Claiming $ENS airdrop questions

Hi /r/ethereum,

I have just realized that I am eligible for the $ENS airdrop while on their website. And I would like to confirm the process of claiming, from what I can see:

1. Connect eligible wallet.
2. Go through the steps, and choose a delegate. What is the purpose of the delegate here? Are the airdropped tokens going to them?

I can see that this then starts a smart contract call for cca. 45 USD. Before doing so I would like to confirm with you guys what happens afterwards, are the tokens in my wallet? Or is there an additional step afterwards?

I would like to move these airdropped tokens to my wallet.

Any further advice is appreciated.
