Unable to clear pending transaction by increasing gas fees

I currently have a pending transaction on ethereum, I know the nonce and gas fees. I have tried increasing the gas and limits on the same nonce (sending myself 0 eth) but it does not work. From what I have read this seems to be the only way to clear the transaction… is there any other way?
