I don’t really understand the “everyone is a shill” mindset here

Not a sh*tpost. I actually don’t understand.

One of the big boasts of the crypto community is that we’re “early” or “early adopters” of what could become an enormous part of the financial world.

Why is it that people talking about their favorite coins, investments are considered “shills”? Isn’t word of mouth a method of exposure that leads to adoption, that leads to crypto growing, which gets those wonderful moons you guys know and love?

Why do people curse folks who talk about these projects when, that’s realistically what NEEDS to happen right now?

Leaving all the obvious sh*t projects, rug pulls, bad investments out of this, why is it bad when people talk about legit projects?
