Classic discussion about energy consumption from BTC mining. How would you explain it in a super simple way ?

Hello everyone ! How are you today ? I hope you all had an excellent Christmas.

I actually never do this and tend to avoid discussions where other people tend to make you look bad, or to seem that you are doing wrong things when you know it is not like that.

It has been proven (and several times) that BTC mining actually uses less energy thank banking worldwide. I have a person that is comparing miners with planet genocides (not kidding).

I know it is not even worth a second to discuss with someone like this, because is like talking directly to a wall, but what would you guys say or do in this case ?
