How do miners connect to the eth network?

For elaboration in a normal situation you have a domain name or ip address that points to a server but with a blockchain you have multiple nodes. So if you want to connect to the eth blockchain do you just choose 1 of the ip’s of all the nodes or is are a server that you point to that connects you to the blockchain?
