Is my long-term strategy fine?

I currently mine ETH on the Nanopool network with my RTX 3080. After I get a payout, I transfer from MEW to my Coinbase portfolio and immediately stake it for 2.0. Long-term I just want to buy a home if ETH blows the roof in value. Will mining be dead when the upgrade happens?
