Moving Funds from L1 to L2 to Ledger

I just got my Ledger yesterday, and I'm trying to move my Ethereum from a standard wallet to an L2 that is compatible with Ledger. My goal is since I'm paying gas fees to move everything I might as well pay them once and not worry about them again.

Ideally I would like the ETH assets to be on an L2 while secure through Ledger, and giving me the ability to interact with Dapps where possible (recognize that each L2 will have its own limitations and ecosystem).

What do people recommend? I've been between Optimism and Loopring but would love peoples' input
