Move all tokens to L2 now or wait?

Some people seem to think L2s will magically reduce L1 fees too because more transactions can be processed. However, for issuing a L1 transaction, I will no longer compete with one other person for gas, but with 50 people each paying a fraction of the total gas. So while L2 transaction will be far cheaper, L1 transactions might not change or even become more expensive.

Right now, L2s are still mostly beta and there could be bugs in them. On the other hand, L2s will most likely be bridged between each other and centralized exchanges, so by transfering to a L2 I do not run the risk of having to withdraw to L1 again if I want to sell or use another L2.

What do you think would be the best strategy to avoid huge fees? Waiting it out because L1 fees will be lower with wide L2 adoption? Or transfer to L2 now to avoid exploding L1 fees?
