L2s vs alternative blockchains

Hi, I was thinking, all the alt L1s are having great time this year due to very low fees they bring. I wonder, do you see any use case for them or any advantages they might have over Ethereum, once L2s are plenty and cheap? This is an honest question, will there be ANY reason to use them?
