Sorry to bother you on a Saturday, but I just listened to the Radio 4 Saturday Moneybox programme and they had a warning on there about banks shutting down your personal current account – within their rights – IF you use the account for your side hustle.

They had someone on who had an account with Nat West for 30 years, 20 of which she had run a side hustle as a yoga teacher, and all of a sudden, the bank locked the account completely, and it’s taken lots of hassle to even get to speak to the bank about it.

Yes, Nat West are just shit heads, but the article explained that they are in their rights to do this, and that you should set up a separate account for your side hustle…

For obvious reasons, I wanted to alert you guys to this!

The programme should be on the iplayer or a podcast at some point, but happy to relay more of what I heard.
