ETH to WETH on CB Wallet

Hey all!

So let me start off by saying I’m pretty retarded. Here’s my situation.

I started an Opensea account.

I started a Coinbase W account.

I transferred ETH to Coinbase W.

Then I go to buy my first NFT and it wants WETH.

Cool, no problem.

I try to convert my ETH to WETH – I get a “gas fees are too high” prompt, I’m like okay let’s try again – this time it works and charges me. BUT my ETH doesn’t covert..

So I’m like that’s odd, my ETH balance went down (so I was charged), but it didn’t it didn’t convert?

So I try again. Same. Exact. Thing. I get charged gas fee, ETH balance goes down (again), and nothing converts.

At this point I’m counting my $50 gone, no idea how/what happened, but I figure it’s gone.

At this point I just want to buy a god damn NFT and not get hit with a gas fee again.

Please tell me what I’m doing wrong lol
