HiveOS – getting lower hashrate on GPU 0 on two different rigs
![]() |
Pretty much what the title says, my gpu 0 on two rigs aren't getting the hashrates it should. When I move them to another slot, they go up to 13-15 mh/s depending on the OC I give them but the OC drastically has to change in slot 1 (GPU 0) in order to not consistently get DEAD GPU, so it's not even the OC settings it should be in order to get the better hashrate because anything off from what it currently is creates the error DEAD GPU. I gave up a few months ago but recently got a lot more time to deal with this problem so I thought I would try at it again. On one rig, I have taken the hdmi out of the gpu at slot 1 and put it into the motherboard because on Hive it was saying the gpu may perform at a lower hashrate due to the gpu handling the graphics as well? It's been a while but I believe it was along those lines. Anyway, it didn't end up changing anything sadly. I also saw people post that changing the bios settings from gen1 to gen2 fixed it for them but sadly once again, no dice. My second rig with this problem won't output any graphics when taking the hdmi out of the gpu and putting it in the mobo but even when I just take the hdmi out and have no output, it still stays at a lower hashrate being in slot 1…also I couldn't find the gen 2 option in this mobo either. For what it's worth the mobo holding 7 gpu's is the ONDA b250-d8p-d4 and the other rig's mobo is asus prime b350-plus which has 5 cards in it (slot one using a riser splitter) All my other rigs have had no issues with this but these two specifically have been giving me a hard time and I haven't found too many answers or even questions around this problem. Any help would be much appreciated, posting this in a few spots to try and find some answers. Everything you see is mining ravencoin btw. Thanks in advance peeps!(: submitted by /u/sohelplesssohelp |
