Missing ETH sent to metamask?

I'm fairly new to crypto (scammers F off, I know the basics), but I'm very new to MetaMask. I tried to send Eth to my public address but it's not showing up anywhere. I'm used to Ledger which is very straight forward, is there any trick to finding it on my MetaMask account?
