Creating a Ravencoin Mining Pool – Is YIIMP the Best Option?

I'd like to experiment with creating a Ravencoin mining pool, and maybe add a few other altcoins (neoscrypt, lyra2, etc). I came across the yiimp open source project that seems to be in use by a lot of smaller pools. Is this the best option? Is there anything else open source out there I should know about?

In case there are other alternatives — I can code in Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, and can fake it in PHP and Ruby.
