Question, If I bought an ERC-20 token and want to sell it on an exchange, does that cost gas?

So, I bought something on Uniswap and now want to sell it. Instead of selling it with Uniswap, can I sell it on Kucoin to avoid the gas fee? Or will Kucoin still cost gas for the exchange? Thanks.
