what’s the usual fee to buy ETH?

i use MEW, let’s say i want to buy 100$ of ETH, they’re taking 20$ which is 20%, i feel like that’s a lot, i know there’s a gas fees and stuff. what are some apps/ sites with the lowest fees? and do any of you use MEW?
