Gas fees and small transactions

Are there alternatives for small transactions through metamask? I can’t afford to get my small holdings here and there without paying 100x more to move something that’s like 30$ bucks worth of something I bought in the early days. Am I missing something? Any tricks to get around this? Or and I SOL!?
