When you “Speed up” a transection do you end up paying gas fee for the original transection too?

I submitted a transection with 50 Gwei but later used the speed up feature in matamask and increased the gas to 60 Gwei. Both transections are still pending. Would I end up paying 50 + 60 = 110 Gwei? Or only for the one which goes through? Thanks for your help!

Edit: I raised this question because I read that you pay gas fee for a cancelled transections too. So this makes me wonder; in the example above would the original transection (50 Gwei) be considered a cancelled transection?
