Don’t invest like a dumbass 101

With a lot of coins in the top 50 pumping hard and reaching new ATH’s – don’t be a dumbass.

If you’re trying to get rich quick and dumping all your previous gains and savings FOMO’ing in at the top – then your "investment strategy" is not much better than someone betting everything on a game of roulette.

Make sure to think rationally and make sure you are not:

  • Getting wrapped in HODL meme mentality, lambo mentality, reddit circlejerks, echo chambers and groupthink. It’s fun, but as everyone will tell you: it’s the last place to go to for sound investment advice.
  • Being blinded by the thought of getting rich quick.
  • Acting on panic. "OMG the price is going to $1 million and I will miss my chance forever if I don't buy right now" or "OMG the price is going to $0.01 and I will miss my chance forever to retain some value if I don't sell right now". Trust me – it’s not the case, and whoever is telling you it is is full of shit.
  • Investing more than you can afford to loose.

Here are some more points to keep in mind:

  • Buying near the ATH is very risky, and while it can be correct/profitable, it puts you on the wrong footing. You need to buy low and sell high to make money (cue the buy high sell low crowd).
  • To reduce risk, it is frequently recommended to allocate assets by percentage, and rebalance upon large price movements.
  • Avoid panic buys and panic sells. DCA over a long period of time is often the best strategy.
  • Nothing rises in real value to infinity. That's impossible.
  • Be mindful of your cognitive biases. Overconfidence bias, hindsight bias, echo chamber effect, anchoring, disposition effect are just a few of them. These are very real, and they affect you as well.
  • If you’re going for a Hold strategy – that’s great, but make sure to have done your own DD, and not just skimmed through a Reddit post (thank you u/ParkingRiver5706)

Finally, and most importantly – always think rationally, not emotionally.

Cheeseburger out.
