Information – NVIDIA Power Limits When Mining Raven

Just thought I would share this experience since I think a lot of people are coming from ETH. And I also see some posts where card wattage is way higher than it needs to be.

I've only tested this on NVIDIA cards but if you're seeing really high temps when moving to kawpow make sure your power limit is lowered, it has pretty much no effect on hashrate but your temps will drop drastically.

For example some of my cards were running around 60C when mining ETH with no power reductions, and when switched to kawpow the temps went right up to 70C+. I typically set my power reduction around 65% and I see a very tiny loss in hashrate (less than 0.5) but it brings temps back down into the low 60s.

For some context my 3070s with a bit of overclocking run at 142W (28-30MHs) and around 62C with normal cooling. And for 1060s they run at 99W also around 62C (9.5-10.5MHs).
