Mining RVN on HiveOS Issues
I've been mining ETH using HiveOS for quite a while and after much tweaking of settings managed to get the system pretty stable. I've started a new rig and decided to mine RVN on that and so far, for the single 2070 that I have it's running pretty smoothly with no problems. To test profitability I decided to switch my main (ETH) rig over to RVN but am having all sorts of stability issues and I was wondering if anyone can help give me some pointers. To start with, here are the setting for how I have t-rex setup for ETH: As you can see, its all 1080ti's and this config is incredibly stable and will run and run for weeks without anything stopping. Now when I switch over to try and mine RVN, again just using t-rex, I set it up the following way initially (this is a screenshot of when it first booted up, the power draw does increase once it starts mining): After a bit of reading I saw that some people had success with lowering the PL right down, I tried that too (setting the cards to about 150w and changing some of the core/mem setting accordingly but nothing seems to work. What happens is that once the rig boots up the cards will register (as above). Very soon after I get different combinations of cards actually hashing and invariably at least 2-3 that will just drop off (they still show but there is no input for hashrate or the power draw). I've tried diferent risers, I've tried changing the slots that they're plugged into as well as a whole host of different OC settings but nothing gives me an form of stability. The most I got working at one point was 4 (the Zotac card went AWOL). Has anyone else had a similar issue or can offer some help/advice? I really want to start mining RVN but for now I just can't utilise all of my hashing power as I'd like submitted by /u/DJStteaky |
